Scope of work: 95,000 ft² new construction

Primary role: Project engineer; plumbing, heating, ventilation, and controls designer.

This base-building office-building project included air-handling systems for ventilation, chilled water systems for cooling, and a gas-fired boiler system for hydronic heating. Systems were designed for maximum tenant flexibility and small foot-print to maximize leasable space.

Scope of work: 43,000 ft² new construction

Primary role: Project engineer; plumbing, heating, ventilation, and controls designer.

This facility was comprised of a production, R&D, engineering, and office spaces. The production area has requirements for controlled temperature and humidity, as well as specialized exhaust systems, and was served by a custom roof-top air-handling unit.

Dartmouth Adult Service Centre, DASC

Scope of work: 25,000 ft² new construction

Primary role: Project engineer; plumbing, heating, ventilation, and controls designer.

Space requirements for this building included an open floor multi-purpose area to be used as a work space for adults with intellectual disabilities. Support spaces for these clients included a life-skills area, lunch room, medical room, food preparation area, and general office.

Scope of work: various renovations

Primary role: Prime and subcontracted project engineer; plumbing, heating, ventilation, sprinkler, and controls designer.

Numerous renovations for repurposing spaces at this major healthcare facility. Projects include: New X-Ray Suite (EOS), Protection Services, Hand Hygiene Sinks, Nephrology, 7th Floor Lab, APSEA, Womens Medicine, Emergency Room 5 Reno, New Mail Room, 5S Clinical Investigation Unit, Spring Garden Place Suite 301, and New X-Ray Suite (Ysio)

Ravine Center II, Sun Life Assurance Company

Scope of work: 45,000 ft² new construction

Primary role: Commissioning Authority

Here is a project in which commissioning services were provided to meet the LEED© requirements for Enhanced Commissioning. This included tasks such as documenting the owner's requirements, design and construction document review, contractor submittal review, installation and performance verification, and development of a systems manual.

Nova Cold Storage Facility, Nova Cold

Scope of work: 5,500 ft² new construction

Primary role: Project engineer; plumbing, heating, ventilation, and controls designer.

The scope of work for this project did not include the adjoining cold storage warehouse, but did include the office space and supporting mechanical rooms. Besides the standard office systems, additional HVAC systems were designed for the battery charging room, diesel fire pump room, and refrigeration mechanical room.

XL Electric, XL Electric Limited

Scope of work: 28,000 ft² new construction

Primary role: Prime project engineer; plumbing, heating, ventilation, and controls designer.

This project included the base-building and a tenant fit-up of office and warehouse space. The design included a radiant floor hydronic heating system, and a packaged roof-top DX cooling and ventilation system. All systems were designed for long-term flexibility and energy efficiency.

Chapel, Theatre Pit, and President's Lodge, University of King's College

Scope of work: 14,000 ft² renovation

Primary role: Project engineer; plumbing, heating, ventilation, and controls designer.

This project involved three unique adjoining spaces in which the existing cast-iron steam radiator system was converted to a hot water system. The historic President's Lodge also involved complete new plumbing, heating, ventilation, and control systems to bring performance and efficiency to today's standards while keeping the look and feel of the original historic building.

Robie Street Needs, Sobeys

Scope of work: 2,000 ft² renovation

Primary role: Project engineer; plumbing, and ventilation designer.

This was one of a series of Needs gas bar and convenience store renovations. Taking a previous car-repair garage and converting it to a convenience store required a complete replacement of all plumbing and ventilation systems.
